An advocate is a person who helps and comforts someone.

Advocates in the Bible:

• The glorified man Jesus Christ is active in heaven for the children of God in order to restore them – if they have sinned – to the full enjoyment of fellowship with the Father and Himself (1 John 2:1-2).
• God, the Holy Spirit, who dwells permanently in every child of God (John 14:17), stands by the believer on the path to heavenly glory, helping and comforting them.
